The Consent & Contraception workshop went really well. The facilitator was incredibly engaging, he was able to hold the students’ attention very easily and there was a great balance of humour and seriousness. I’ve had really positive feedback from the students already, they have learned so much but don’t feel overwhelmed with facts and figures and it wasn’t death by PowerPoint. We would be delighted to invite 2020 Dreams back.

About our RSE Workshops

2020 Dreams RSE Workshops – Relationship & Sex Education

2020 Dreams Relationship & Sex Education – RSE workshops cover a wide range of issues that affect children and young people from primary school and upwards. These have been sensitively designed to fit in with new government guidelines for the compulsory teaching of Relationship Education in primary schools and Relationship and Sex Education (RSE) in secondary schools.

These are due to apply from September 2020 although some schools will be starting programmes from September 2019. Click the link to read our blog post on the draft Relationship and Sex Education guidelines.

Our 2020 Dreams RSE workshops aim to promote a balanced, healthy approach to a sensitive subject area which can sometimes attract strong, biased and inaccurate opinions.

By giving children and young adults accurate and relevant information appropriate to their age, we can provide the foundation for them to make informed choices about their relationships and sexual activity. Delivered in a format that includes interactive, drama-based exercises, our RSE workshops are designed to maximise pupil engagement by being fun, creative and memorable.

As puberty begins and children start to become aware of their own sexuality they become very vulnerable to exploitation and the consequences of poor decision-making. We provide flexible and effective RSE workshops throughout the UK to a wide range of organisations including schools, colleges and youth organisations.

Our 2020 Dreams project is dedicated to the successful growth and development of all children and young adults, regardless of past or present disadvantages. Our positive, interactive and engaging workshops provide the support and guidance that will turn our ambitions into reality.

We are able to customise our RSE workshops to fit in with your schedule and support the work done by your school or young person’s organisation. Just call us on 0800 471 4983 and let us know what you’re looking for.

From the moment they start interacting with others, children begin to form relationships which will profoundly affect their experiences through school and beyond. As they become older, they will inevitably learn about the physical and social aspects of sexuality and will form their own attitudes and beliefs about sex and relationships.

Relationship & Sex Education (RSE) Workshops

Although many children make it through these exploratory years virtually unscathed others are less fortunate, with some affected by teenage pregnancy, STDs, sexual exploitation or sexual harassment. The online world with social media and mobile technology have added new challenges. 2020 Dreams RSE workshops sensitively tackle the controversial area of sexuality and relationships using a combination of imaginatively designed and age-appropriate interactive role-plays and open forum discussions.

For some children, a 2020 Dreams Relationship & Sex Education (RSE) workshop empowers them to ask questions and discuss experiences they have been too embarrassed or worried to raise elsewhere. All 2020 Dreams workshop employees hold a current enhanced DBS check, and every workshop is risk-assessed before delivery.

Protecting the Vulnerable

Society has a duty to equip all its children and young adults with the knowledge and skills needed to make healthy choices with regards to sex and relationships. The consequences of poor decision-making, whether as a result of peer pressure or inaccurate and/or incomplete information, can be far-reaching – and sometimes devastating.

Unplanned pregnancies, sexually-transmitted infections and sexual exploitation are three of the major risk factors that 2020 Dreams RSE workshops aim to protect young people from. We educate children on the facts behind the myths and introduce strategies that can be used in difficult situations, for example when dealing with cases of sexual abuse.

Children, adolescents and even parents often feel awkward when talking about their experiences and situations involving sex, which can lead to communication breakdown within families. We help and support young people to bring up their questions and concerns in a way which avoids embarrassment and protects their privacy. Sensitive issues are explored through drama-based scenarios and participants are encouraged to add their own input and to benefit from the experiences of other group members.

Age-appropriate Topics

2020 Dreams RSE workshops aim to empower young people to make sensible life choices and have a positive experience of their sexual development.

We deal with the topics most relevant to the participants’ age, broadly divided into the three groups below:

Primary School Topics:

  • Puberty
  • Healthy relationships/friendships
  • Boosting self-esteem
  • Online Grooming & Staying Safe Online

Secondary School/College Topics:

  • STIs/STDs Awareness
  • Decision-making
  • Healthy relationships
  • Teen pregnancy
  • Consent, inappropriate Behaviour & Rape
  • Sexting & Sexual Bullying
  • Contraception Awareness
  • Pornography

Parental Topics:

  • Talking with your children about sexual health
  • Birth control/safer sex
  • Myth-busting
  • Puberty & Changes
  • Online Safety

The safety of your students is our number one priority. In common with all of our workshops, 2020 Dreams RSE workshops are fully risk-assessed and run by skilled and experienced facilitators who have undergone an enhanced DBS disclosure within the last three years.

Please read through our testimonials below to discover how our sex and relationship workshops have provided valuable and effective support for various organisations involved in this area of child development. If you would like to discuss booking a workshop to fit in with the aims of your school or youth organisation, or would like more information on our sex and relationships workshops or the 2020 Dreams project, then please contact us on 0800 471 4983.
