About our RSE Workshops
2020 Dreams RSE Workshops – Relationship & Sex Education
These are due to apply from September 2020 although some schools will be starting programmes from September 2019. Click the link to read our blog post on the draft Relationship and Sex Education guidelines.
Our 2020 Dreams RSE workshops aim to promote a balanced, healthy approach to a sensitive subject area which can sometimes attract strong, biased and inaccurate opinions.
By giving children and young adults accurate and relevant information appropriate to their age, we can provide the foundation for them to make informed choices about their relationships and sexual activity. Delivered in a format that includes interactive, drama-based exercises, our RSE workshops are designed to maximise pupil engagement by being fun, creative and memorable.
Our 2020 Dreams project is dedicated to the successful growth and development of all children and young adults, regardless of past or present disadvantages. Our positive, interactive and engaging workshops provide the support and guidance that will turn our ambitions into reality.
We are able to customise our RSE workshops to fit in with your schedule and support the work done by your school or young person’s organisation. Just call us on 0800 471 4983 and let us know what you’re looking for.
From the moment they start interacting with others, children begin to form relationships which will profoundly affect their experiences through school and beyond. As they become older, they will inevitably learn about the physical and social aspects of sexuality and will form their own attitudes and beliefs about sex and relationships.
Relationship & Sex Education (RSE) Workshops
For some children, a 2020 Dreams Relationship & Sex Education (RSE) workshop empowers them to ask questions and discuss experiences they have been too embarrassed or worried to raise elsewhere. All 2020 Dreams workshop employees hold a current enhanced DBS check, and every workshop is risk-assessed before delivery.
Protecting the Vulnerable
Society has a duty to equip all its children and young adults with the knowledge and skills needed to make healthy choices with regards to sex and relationships. The consequences of poor decision-making, whether as a result of peer pressure or inaccurate and/or incomplete information, can be far-reaching – and sometimes devastating.
Unplanned pregnancies, sexually-transmitted infections and sexual exploitation are three of the major risk factors that 2020 Dreams RSE workshops aim to protect young people from. We educate children on the facts behind the myths and introduce strategies that can be used in difficult situations, for example when dealing with cases of sexual abuse.
Children, adolescents and even parents often feel awkward when talking about their experiences and situations involving sex, which can lead to communication breakdown within families. We help and support young people to bring up their questions and concerns in a way which avoids embarrassment and protects their privacy. Sensitive issues are explored through drama-based scenarios and participants are encouraged to add their own input and to benefit from the experiences of other group members.
2020 Dreams RSE workshops aim to empower young people to make sensible life choices and have a positive experience of their sexual development.
