Welcome to 2020 Dreams® – Bringing Vision to Life

A Unique Blend of Learning & Creativity

2020 Dreams is a project dedicated to realising a vision of a country where every child and teen has the opportunity to make up for past and present disadvantages and bring out the potential for excellence within. 2020 Dreams is for every young person, but the improvement to awareness, skills and attitude is most noticeable when it comes to children and teens from troubled backgrounds, some of who have been disengaged from healthy society for some time.

To achieve real change, present difficulties and challenges have to be acknowledged and addressed, and 2020 Dreams workshops focus on both enhancing positive experiences (e.g. healthy eating, enterprise, interview techniques) and combatting societies ills (e.g. drugs, alcohol, teen pregnancy, bullying and knife and gun crime). Workshops are organised by topic area and, by clicking the appropriate topic in the menu bar, you can see the full range of what we can offer your school, college, charity, PRU, Young Offender Institution or other youth-focused organisation.

Unique, Customisable Workshops

Our parent company, 2020 Effect, have built up considerable experience in running fun, effective, engaging workshops on a variety of arts-related topics. We understand what it takes to inspire young people, even those who tend to be difficult to engage, and have distilled this knowledge into a workshop formula for the ambitious 2020 Dreams project.

Two elements of our workshops have proved to be particularly powerful: role-plays and discussion forums. Interactive role-play scenarios serve to bring the academic awareness-building information provided into the real world of the student, giving them something to relate to on a personal level. Our role-plays strike a sensitive balance between being realistic and straying into overly controversial areas. We never single students out or make them feel embarrassed or uncomfortable.

Open discussion forums give young people the space and respect to air their own views and propose their own solutions to 21st Century problems; after all, they are on the front line. The facilitator is on hand to guide the debate, ensure fair participation and ensure a respectful attitude is maintained. Nevertheless, the actual workshop format is very flexible and workshops can be customised to fit in with your agenda.

Every organisation is only as strong as its workforce, and 2020 Dreams is no different. One of our key strengths is our diverse group of experienced facilitators who are strongly grounded in their subject area, ensuring an authentic experience every time.

‘Be Creative’ Workshops

As well as our comprehensive range of social awareness, healthy living and enterprise workshops, there are also a full range of interactive creative workshops provided by 2020 Effect, as well as street dance workshops from our popular Street Fit® brand.

‘Be Creative’ workshops are not only fun and inspirational, they help children to find pleasure in producing work they can be proud of, increasing self-esteem and self-motivation. They also learn to access their own creative potential which can then be used to overcome life challenges. Workshops are organised by art form (for example music, dance, drama, visual art and sport), and by geographical area (for example Africa, Asia or South America). For more information visit 2020 Effect website..

We take our safeguarding responsibilities seriously: all workshops are fully risk-assessed and all 2020 Dreams facilitators hold current enhanced DBS disclosures.

Recent client testimonial

Thank you for the Gun/Knife Crime, Gang Prevention and Drugs Awareness workshops that you delivered. The pupils were really engaged and enjoyed the sessions. It would be great to work with you all again, and will speak to the team about some plans going forward.
